Timeline & Process

App Interface Design projects can vary widely — from a small set of screens to large, multi-feature platforms. Because of this, timelines are planned around project stages rather than fixed weeks.

Stage 01.

Stage 02.

  • We start by reviewing your app concept, features, and requirements to understand exactly what needs to be designed. Together we define:

    • the number of screens

    • key user flows

    • technical considerations

    • priorities and scope

This stage sets clear expectations and allows us to map out a realistic plan before design begins.

  • We begin by designing 1–2 core screens to establish the overall style, layout system, and visual direction for the app.

    This stage is where we:

    • lock in the look and feel

    • confirm hierarchy and structure

    • refine typography, spacing, and components

You’ll receive 2–3 rounds of revisions on these initial screens to ensure the foundation is exactly right before we move forward.

Stage 05.

  • For bigger or more complex platforms, Stages 03 and 04 are repeated as needed until all required screens are completed and the full app interface is designed.

Each additional phase follows the same structured approach: rollout, feedback, and refinement.

Stage 03.

Stage 04.

  • Once the direction is approved, the design system is rolled out across the main app screens and primary user flows.

    This stage focuses on:

    • core features

    • major pages

    • essential interactions

Revisions at this stage are treated collectively, with up to 1–2 rounds of feedback applied across the group of screens rather than per individual page.

  • Next, the approved design direction is applied to secondary screens and edge cases — such as settings, confirmations, empty states, and additional features.

Again, revisions are handled as a grouped phase, with up to 1–2 rounds of refinements across this set of screens.

Final Stage.

  • Once all screens are approved, everything is organised and delivered as a complete Adobe XD handover package, ready for your developers to build from.

Pricing - App Interface Design

Starting from $8 400 + GST

All prices are in AUD and exclusive of GST.

Your investment includes everything needed to turn your app concept into a clear, cohesive, build-ready interface: structured user flows, thoughtfully designed screens, consistent components, key interaction states, and an organised Adobe XD handover your developers can work from confidently.

The final investment depends on the size and complexity of your app — particularly how many screens and design phases are required.

Most projects begin at $8,400 + GST. We’ll confirm the right level of scope for your app during the discovery call.

App Interface Design projects are billed progressively by phase. A 20% deposit secures your project, with further 20% payments scheduled prior to each design stage. For larger projects that require additional design phases, payments continue on the same staged basis.
All payments are completed before final handover.

FAQs

Have questions about working together on your Brand Strategy? Here are the things people ask most before getting started.

  • Timelines depend on the size and complexity of your app. A smaller project can often be completed within a few weeks, while larger apps are delivered in structured design stages. Exact timeframes are confirmed during the scoping phase once we know how many screens and flows are required.

  • It depends on the project and my current schedule, but I typically book 2–4 weeks in advance. If you’ve got a tight timeline, still reach out — sometimes magic happens when we find a gap.

  • You’ll complete a short onboarding questionnaire and share any relevant information about your app — such as feature lists, user flows, technical requirements, or existing UX/UI work.
If you haven’t completed UX/UI design yet, that’s okay — I can help with that as a separate engagement before interface design begins.

  • Absolutely. Nothing is templated or generic. Every screen, component, and interaction is designed specifically for your app, your users, and your project requirements.

  • Yes — revisions are built into the process. Stage 2 includes 2–3 rounds of revisions on the initial direction screens. Later stages include 1–2 rounds of grouped revisions per design phase, rather than per individual screen, to keep feedback structured and efficient.

  • You’ll receive a full developer-ready handover with Adobe XD files, assets, and design elements ready for build. From there, your development team can move straight into implementation — and I can stay involved to support any design questions along the way.

  • UX/UI Design focuses on research, user flows, wireframes, and overall experience planning.
App Interface Design focuses on the visual and functional interface layer — turning defined ideas and requirements into polished, build-ready screens.
If your project needs deeper UX/UI work first, that can be scoped and completed as a separate phase.

  • Yes! I’m happy to collaborate with your development team throughout the process. I can answer questions, clarify design intent, provide assets, and help resolve any interface details to ensure the final build matches the approved designs as closely as possible.

  • Easy. Once we’ve scoped your project, we’ll confirm exactly how many screens and design stages are required. If additional phases or screens are needed, they’re simply added and billed as extra stages — no surprises.

  • App Interface Design already uses a staged payment structure, so separate payment plans aren’t needed. Projects are billed progressively by phase, with 20% payments made prior to each design stage. This keeps payments manageable and aligned with project progress.

  • Unfortunately not. Deposits secure your place in my schedule, and each stage payment becomes non-refundable once that phase begins. If your timeline shifts, I’ll always do my best to reschedule where possible — flexibility matters, but commitment keeps projects running smoothly.

  • Easy — start by filling out my [inquiry form] (or link it). From there, I’ll be in touch to book a discovery call or confirm details. Once we’ve locked in your scope and start date, a signed agreement and deposit secure your spot in my schedule.

  • Every project starts with clarity. Once you enquire, I’ll review your goals, needs and timeline. From there, we’ll jump on a discovery call to make sure we’re the right fit. Then the fun part begins — strategy, design, feedback, and launch.
Whether it’s a full rebrand or a single design day, my process is collaborative, transparent, and designed to get results (without dragging on for months).

  • Yes! I work with clients all over the world. Everything happens online — video calls, emails, shared files — so time zones are no barrier (mine’s AEST, just in case you’re wondering).
